A plastic pot for jam produced by RPC Superfos Region Nordic is nominated for the Consumer Packaging Award, one of four categories in the Swedish Packaging Industry Awards.
The finalist is the SuperLock® pot which the retailer ICA Sverige AB now uses for jam. In fact, the SuperLock® solution has successfully replaced a glass jar.
ICA’s grounds for the nomination are as follows:
“We swap glass packaging with plastic packaging. We get a new packaging solution that both accommodates the consumers’ demand and is environmentally friendly. The new pot is easy to open and re-close; it can be re-used and is suitable for dishwasher, microwave oven and freezer. Further, plastic holds less weight than the traditional jar made of glass so it is better for the environment in terms of transport. The new pack is also easier to handle for our staff at the shops and easier for the consumer to bring home. In short, it is a pack of which we are very proud.”
Per Sollenby, Sales Director Food, RPC Superfos Region Nordic, is excited about the nomination of the already multi-award winning SuperLock® pack:
“The nomination for the Consumer Packaging Award is wonderful. We hope to go all the way in Sweden.”
A jury consisting of experts with lots of experience within the packaging industry will find a winner in each of the four categories and will announce its decision on 21 October in Gothenburg, Sweden, in connection with the Scanpack trade fair. The competition is arranged by the Swedish trade periodical PackMarknaden.
