As concerns about the environmental impact of single-use packaging continues to grow worldwide, the food service industry is gradually switching to reusable packaging. To meet this demand pertaining to drinks, Berry Superfos recently launched the Berry Cup Range of high-quality reusable cups designed for restaurants, outlets, event planners and other venues to be used on-site or for takeaway.
“The Berry Cup Range is an example of how we assist our customers in minimising their environmental footprint, reduce waste and use of virgin material. Our focus is to optimise the packaging design process with sustainability in mind, incorporating elements such as lightweight and designing for reusability, recyclability and compostability,” says Josef Björck, VP CPI Food Service.
The new cups are not just reusable, they are also lightweight and widely recyclable. This is because they are made from PP only, a high-quality plastic material that is safe for food contact and easy to recycle when the cups are finally worn out.
Premium look and feel with superior branding options
The new reusable cup range also brings a host of other benefits to enhance the business of restaurants, outlets, event planners etc., elevating the customer experience with hot and cold beverages, as well as soups.
Designed with both functionality and aesthetics in mind, these cups are unlike anything else on the market for reusable cups and you can achieve the next level of customization for your brands.
Emma Gundersen, Industrial Designer, Berry Superfos says:
“We aimed to create a range of cups that not only is reusable but also serve as a canvas for customised expression for the individual business. The unique rib structure of the cups make the cups visually appealing and adds a touch of elegance. On top of that, you can create your own unique look for your brand by playing with the In-Mould Labeling (IML) space and have logos and messages printed on the cup.”
It is even possible to incorporate a RFID chip or QR code to engage with your customers and enhance their experience. An RFID chip offers various benefits, including the option of setting up a streamlined return deposit system and convenient refill options. It also ensures efficient cup maintenance through wash cycle tracking, as well as improved inventory management.
Durable, stackable and washable
The new cups are exceptionally durable and definitely have a reusable feel. All cups in the range are dishwasher safe and have an inside stacking rim and ribs with smooth curves for improved cleaning. They retain a premium quality feel even after they have been reused several times. Naturally, the cups are designed to be stackable, ensuring they occupy minimal space.
For hot drinks and soups the available sizes are 320 ml to fit 0,25 l, 420 ml to fit 0,35 l and 515 ml to fit 0,45 l, while the sizes for cold drinks are 425 ml. to fit 0,3 l, 545 ml to fit 0,4 l and 675 ml to fit 0,5 l.
The hot cups feature heat insulated material while the ribs ensure additional heat insulation as well as a secure grip.
