Interpack is where all ends meet, every three years in Germany. This trade fair on processes and packaging is a fantastic occasion to interchange ideas with your RPC Superfos contact – and to get updated on what our technologies and innovations can do for your business.
WorldStar for advanced barrier technologies
RPC Superfos continuously works on creating innovative solutions within barrier technologies to extend the shelf life of your food product. Stop by stand D21 in Hall 10 to see one of our latest examples: a bespoke solution that replaces the use of metal cans for seafood. RPC Superfos developed this in a series of four types, all with a unique oxygen barrier, for seafood producer Bornholms. These four advanced packaging solutions received a WorldStar 2013-2014 - and the ceremony in this connection will take place during Interpack.
In the award winning packs, selected seafood products can get a two-year shelf life at ambient temperatures. However, the advanced solution, called LongLife is not only reserved for seafood; the packaging design can easily be adapted to many other types of foodstuff that require airtight storage.
Søren Rohleder, Regional Director of RPC Superfos, Region Central, says:
”Generally, we see a growing trend towards conversion from metal to plastic. From our comprehensive standard range, pots and containers such as SuperLock®, SuperCube®, Paintainer® and SuperFlex® are successfully used in the conversion processes of our customers. We offer 360 degree support for maximum benefits and ensure a smooth transition from traditional materials to plastic.”
New solutions on display
A brand new packaging for pet food with an oxygen barrier is another example of innovation. A sample of the square plastic pack will be on display at the trade fair.
“Simply by being made of plastic, this pack will help pet food manufactures create product differentiation, as the market today is dominated by aluminium trays. The LongLifeTM product offers UV light barrier protection, ambient shelf life and endless decoration options with in-mould labelling,” Søren Rohleder explains.
Further, we showcase a sample of a newly developed, innovative and elegant solution from RPC Superfos which accommodates the need for a handy pack for easy snacking on-the-go: In the new series EasySnacking we have integrated a spoon into the lid of a square pot, which is especially suitable for dairy products. The entire solution features attractive smooth lines and gives a soft impression – quite similar to the texture of any dairy content.
Thin Wall Packaging as you want it
If you produce butter, yellow fats or dairy products, you should familiarise yourself with our expertise in TWP solutions (Thin Wall Packaging). We have a strong track record in creating bespoke packs with an impressive finish and user-friendliness in light weight material. Visit our stand and tell us about your specific packaging needs - or take a closer look at SuperLight®, a ready-to-use TWP pack with a light, but strong body and lid. SuperLight®is likely to increase speed at the filling line thanks to its strong dimensional reliability.
No more dry flakes in paint
At Interpack, you can also explore how our FlakeFree® feature will improve your containers for paint. FlakeFree means that the painter can do his or her job without the hassle of dry flakes. It is available for the SuperFlex®, SuperCube® and SuperLift® containers.
With plant-based or post-consumer material
SuperLift® also comes in a version made from plant-based plastic based on starch and further, we offer several pails which contain post-consumer material that helps to deliver sustainable benefits.
