The food service industry faces mounting legislative and customer pressures to transform its packaging practices. For example, the Anti-Waste Law for Circular Economy law (AGEC) in France, mandates that restaurants and other establishments with seating for more than 20 guests must offer reusable tableware.
In response to this development, Berry Superfos is introducing the all-new Berry Superfos Reusable Tableware Range. This revolutionary series comprises reusable bowls and lids, redefining the way restaurant food is served, enjoyed and packaged.
“We are delighted to introduce the game-changing Reusable Tableware Product Family which combines functionality, sustainability and advanced technologies. By choosing our reusable range, the food industry will minimise waste and reduce the use of virgin resources,” says Josef Björk, VP CPI Food Service, Berry Superfos.
Displays your food and your brand beautifully
The design features of the range have been meticulously crafted to meet the diverse needs of the food service industry while prioritising easy reuse and convenience. Transparent lids allow attractive displays of full meals, fresh salads, delicious snacks, yummy desserts and more. With In-Mould Labelling, the bowls and lids can be used for branding and decorated with the visual identity of the individual food provider.
Easy serving and transportation of meals
The bowls and lids also facilitate on-site operations in the food service industry by being stackable and easy to handle for waitstaff, enabling efficient service of multiple portions simultaneously. Moreover, customers can bring leftover food or takeaway meals home and later return the bowl and lid to the point of purchase for reuse.
Opens new doors for streamlining your business
“Switching to reusable packaging presents a challenge for the food service industry, but it also offers a valuable opportunity. It allows the industry to rethink and streamline their operations, enhancing both efficient service and marketing prospects,” says Josef Björk.
For example, each bowl offers space for a QR code, barcode, Digimarc or an RFID chip with a unique code, enabling effortless implementation of return deposit systems and refill systems, wash cycles tracking and inventory management of the reusable bowls and lids. An RFID chip can also be embedded into each lid.
Washable, sturdy and widely recyclable
Naturally, the Berry Superfos Reusable Tableware Range is washable and fits nicely in industrial dishwashers, ensuring easy cleaning and ongoing hygiene standards. Berry Superfos has optimised the dish washer cycle of the range to enable the individual restaurant to save energy, water and time. The stackable design with inside stacking ribs makes storage and transportation a breeze, optimising space utilisation. Additionally, the bowls are crafted from PP (polypropylene), a high-quality plastic material that is not only safe for food contact but also easy to recycle.
The bowls have a sturdy construction and are built to last. The matt outside surface structure resists scratches, and on the inside, a hygienic smooth surface minimises the risk of bacteria growth.
Despite comprising only two types of bowls and lids, the Reusable Tableware Range is highly versatile. The high bowls with low lids and low bowls with high lids can be used interchangeably, with the bowl or lid placed at the top or bottom, and they can also double as plates. This smart design provides the food service industry with multiple solutions, making the Reusable Tableware Range a practical and efficient choice for all their needs.
