An easily recognisable family ice cream called Quattro is frequently added to the shopping carts in Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia. It is sold in a sleek and transparent plastic pack displaying a delicious combination of four different ice cream flavours: A mouth-watering example is a combination of almond, mandarin, lavender and crème caramel. Each flavour is beautifully decorated with a topping and a sauce – clear to see straight from the display freezer at the supermarket.
In-house mould shop
The transparent packaging solution for Quattro has been made especially for the Croatian company Ledo, and its subsidiary Frikom in Serbia. Both are market leaders in the production of ice cream and distribution of frozen food in their respective countries.
Ledo was looking for a special pack for Quattro and approached Helioplast, the leading provider of injection moulded packaging in the region. With its in-house mould shop and very competent staff, Helioplast met Ledo’s demand for creative solutions. Tomislav Kitonic, Managing Director of Ledo, says:
“Our marketing team worked closely together with Helioplast to develop and produce a totally new and remarkable packaging solution. During the brainstorm and workshop phase, Helioplast demonstrated great creativity and flexibility - every wish we had regarding the packaging could be realised. Unquestionably, the packaging solution adds value to our brand.”
Everybody knows Quattro
The pack comes in two sizes, 1650 ml and 900 ml, and has round corners and a lid that is easy to open and re-close. The pack with the four ice cream combinations is ready to serve, straight from the freezer to the dinner table. Its shape also means efficient storage and easy transportation.
Ledo, the producer of Quattro, is already a household brand in Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia. The Quattro range has further reinforced the company’s market position.
“Together with Helioplast, we have created an ice cream pack with a strong distinctive character. Everybody here knows Quattro – not least because of the packaging – and the popularity of the range is reflected in sales figures as well,” Tomislav Kitonic concludes.
Helioplast, based in Bosnia & Herzegovina, became part of the RPC Superfos cluster in December 2013. Only recently, Helioplast inaugurated a new production facility, equipped with the latest technology.
