A specially designed pet food storage container HalfMoon™ has been honoured with a ScanStar 2014 in the category Promotional Packaging. The packaging solution is unique, because it is shaped like a half moon and offers exceptional user-friendliness as well as many exciting options for display. The original drawings of the design concerned a pail for paint.
Motivation of the jury
The jury states the following reasons for giving the award to HalfMoon™:
“An attractive shape which gives both great ergonomics for carrying and an option for fine in-mould labelling graphics. It is a high-end alternative to for instance bags with 15 kg pet food, so the pail can also be used for refill. The solution is known from a pail for paint, has been further developed and adapted to a completely new category, and this has been done with lots of user insight. It is an exclusive packaging which gives the customer a high user value.”
Value adding extras
The award winning packaging has been constructed, designed and produced by RPC Superfos on behalf of one of the world’s leading companies within pet health nutrition. The special pack serves as a loyalty gift to pet food customers with some add-ons: a two-compartment insert, ideal for serving pet food pellets and fresh water to cats and dogs, and a dosage spoon.
Carry with comfort
Benny Nielsen, Executive VP and Technology Director at RPC Superfos, is very pleased that HalfMoon™ has received an award in the Nordic packaging competition ScanStar. He says:
“The message from the ScanStar is wonderful news, and we are very proud to get this acknowledgement of our work. We have strived to create an ingenious design, which provides end-user with true convenience and user friendliness. It has a clear ergonomic advantage, as it is easy to carry a container which – thanks to its shape – is close to the body and straight below the shoulder of the person carrying it. The weight of the container will feel less heavy.”
On display at Foodtech
The official ScanStar ceremony takes place on the 28 October 2014 at the occasion of the FoodTech trade Fair in Herning, Denmark. You are cordially invited to come take a look at the HalfMoon™ pack at Hall L, where it will be on display together with the other ScanStar winners until 30 October.
With the ScanStar award at hand, RPC Superfos is now ready to enter the HalfMoon™ pack to the WorldStar 2014 competition.
