Hearty root vegetable soup with beans, tasty sweet corn with noodles - or rather tangy tomato soup with pasta? Toddlers these days have a great choice of healthy convenience food in the United Kingdom where the company Organix just launched perfectly sized soups particularly suitable for children between 1 and 3 years old. They are ideal for parents on the run or for relaxed and convenient nutritionally balanced meals at home.
Easy as a child’s play
The soups are sold in a premium packaging: a SuperLock pot from RPC Superfos holding a volume of 215 ml. SuperLock is suitable for microwave ovens, dishwasher and freezer, so convenience also comes from the packaging.
The French food producer Charles & Alice produces the soups for toddlers on behalf of Organix and fills them into SuperLock pots. Area Sales Manager Maxence Boutry from Charles & Alice has been very much involved in the launch of the soups in the SuperLock pot. He says:
“In France, we have great success with fruit compotes in a SuperLock packaging solution, and our customer Organix in the United Kingdom decided to use the same type of packaging for the organics soups. No doubt, the soups in SuperLock have gone down well with consumers so far.”
Pot and soup evenly matched
Organix stands for the best quality organic ingredients; as such the organic food company required a packaging solution that could match the high standard of the soup.
“Product safety was on the top of the wish list and RPC Superfos was able to give us peace of mind in this respect,” says Maxence Boutry and continues:
“Another key issue was the artwork design: it had to be displayed in the most perfect way on the pot, withstanding the very high temperatures for the pasteurisation of the pots and the soup. With In-Mould Labelling on the SuperLock pot, the result is impeccable.”
Fill the pantry - long shelf life is secured
SuperLock® is based on outstanding innovation and design and has been honoured with multiple international awards, not least because of the extremely low oxygen transmission rates. The oxygen barrier is secured by an integrated barrier foil which covers all surfaces of the packaging. For the toddler soups, oxygen transmission rates were intensively tested with more than satisfactory results. So, with very long shelf life, parents can stock healthy soups for their toddlers - to use at home or away.
