UniPak is now also produced in the United States

The new RPC Superfos facility in the USA is now in full swing at Winchester, Virginia. For their frozen dessert pastries, Poppies International values the local production of plastic packs.

Brand new European moulding machines, robotics and moulds are now up and running at the RPC Superfos facility in Winchester, Virginia, less than a couple of hours’ drive from Washington D.C. The new facility accommodates the packaging needs of US and global customers.

Increased speed to the US market
One of the very first customers seeing an immediate advantage in locally produced packaging is the pastry company Poppies Intl. With several locations in Europe and the United States, Poppies Intl. values the increased speed to market that they achieve through the RPC Superfos facility in Winchester. The pastry producer uses the flat square UniPak 1.5 litres pack which was previously produced in Mullsjö, Sweden. Two bigger sizes will follow suit.

Heather Aycock, Quality Manager at Poppies Intl. explains:

“Now that we can have UniPak produced in the United States, we save time and can respond with more flexibility to market demand for our frozen chocolate covered cream puffs. To us, it is very important that our packaging provider offers smooth and efficient logistics, and RPC Superfos meets our requirements.”

The new machines in Winchester offer efficient production footprints thanks to dual- and tri-injection units. Each machine can mould containers and lids at the same time.

UniPak, SuperLift® and more to come,
The current production at the new RPC Superfos facility concerns ready-to use packs, namely UniPak, round and square in a range of sizes, and the SuperLift® pail, round shape, in two sizes. More unique product lines will find their way to the US production site in the next months.
