Two iF packaging awards 2011

Superfos has been awarded with two iF packaging awards in 2011. The awards go to the new generation of Paintainer® and to the co-injection method. This is a thrilling result in an international competition with more than 200 entries.

An international jury of experts have awarded two packaging solutions from Superfos with the iF packaging award. The jury has been commissioned by the International Forum Design Hannover and considered 203 entries from 24 countries. Only 59 have achieved the much desired iF packaging award with the option for a gold award in May and in this exclusive group are our co-injection method and the new generation of Paintainer.

Both nominations acknowledge our efforts in innovation and manifest our position as one of Europe’s leading provider of packaging solutions.

Co-injection methods - packaging material
Superfos submitted the co-injection method in the category ‘packaging materials’. The essence of the method is the combination of two different materials for one single packaging, one of them being post consumer material.

Only the raw material virgin PP is visible or in contact with the packaged content. Actually, between 30 and 40 per cent of the packaging may not be raw material virgin PP. Applying the method means a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of the packaging and is a brilliant way to apply recycled material.

New Paintainer - display and transport packaging
A new generation of our popular container for paint, Paintainer, entered the competition for the award in the category ‘display and transport packaging’.

One of the most important advantages of the new Paintainer is the remarkable user convenience: The new opening system makes it very easy to open Paintainer. It is also easy to close, pour from and empty. Other benefits are the improved stacking facility and a large decoration area for a greater brand impact.

On show in May
In connection with the trade fair interpack PROCESSES AND PACKAGING from 12 to 18 May 2011 in Düsseldorf, all entries nominated for the iF gold award including the new Paintainer® and the co-injection process will be on show in a public exhibition. We hope to see you there, too.
