The sleek and innovative EasySnacking™ packaging solution for eating on-the-go has received the FPA Product Innovation Award 2016 from the Foodservice Packaging Association. A group of expert judges from the packaging industry thoroughly considered an impressive pool of entries before deciding to give the award to EasySnacking™ from RPC Superfos. The winning pack features a stylish look with a sleek integral spoon in the lid - ideal for a broad range of convenience food.
The judges’ opinion
According to the judges, one of the key aspects for making EasySnacking™ an award winning pack is that it brings something new to the market. Apart from the great design, they highlight innovative improvements that enhance customer experience. The simple yet effective design ensures high level hygiene thanks to the peelable self-adhesive label on top of the lid which accommodates the spoon. Another key advantage, in the eyes of the judges, is that recycling is easy because the packaging is made entirely of polypropylene – after use the whole pack goes into one and the same recycling bin.
Brings benefits to the end-user
Sean Dyer, Regional Sales Director, RPC Superfos UK says:
“We are delighted to have won the FPA award and we are proud of our EasySnacking™ pack. The complete packaging solution makes eating on-the-go an indulgent experience and an increasing number of food producers are becoming aware of the benefits that it brings to the end-users.”
Importantly, it is easy to open the pack avoiding any spills when the lid is removed; the integral spoon is hassle-free to grasp and it feels good to eat from. On shelf, the pack looks enticing to end-users with hi- tech in-mould labelling.
Low-rise and high-rise lid
The design is available in two versions: one with a spoon in the lid and one with a higher lid giving room for both a topping – crunchy or liquid – and a spoon. Apart from offering outstanding convenience and functionality, the pot is re-closable, stable and optimised for stacking - filled or empty.
Multi award-winning
Besides the FPA Product Innovation Award 2016, EasySnacking™ was appointed finalist in the category “Best convenience on-the-go packaging” of the World Food Innovations Awards 2016. Further, the pack holds a Scanstar Award from the Nordic packaging competition of the same name.
