SuperLock is a very convincing plastic packaging which has already been awarded with several international prizes. Now, it has received another sought-after distinction: a Scanstar Award 2011.
Excels in user-friendliness
The jury behind the yearly pan-Nordic packaging competition has stated the following grounds for awarding SuperLock with a Scanstar:
“The packaging is close to utter perfection as it transfers some of the qualities found in the combination of glass and metal to a pure plastic packaging. An example is the oxygen barrier and the precise opening and closing mechanism. The packaging can be stacked and has great surfaces for graphical exposure and/or display of the product inside. The packaging encompasses all the qualities you would expect, but excels in user friendliness.”
Long shelf life
One of the most important advantages of the SuperLock container is the long shelf life which it provides for. According to extensive tests, products like marmalade, beet root and red cabbage packed in SuperLock can stay on shelf twice as long - or even three times longer - than in reference packaging. In fact, SuperLock® allows for a shelf life of up to 24 months.
Area Sales Manager Region Nordic at RPC Superfos, Roy Engdal, says:
“It is wonderful to receive such an important recognition and we are very pleased that the outstanding properties of SuperLock have impressed the Scanstar jury. Based on focused research, we have developed a container that not only features barrier protection on all surfaces but also membrane sealing. These two properties combined ensure an almost non-existent oxygen transmission.” He adds:
“These days SuperLock becomes increasingly popular both among food producers and consumers, and this is probably because of the long shelf life and the thoroughly prepared design.”
Follow the stars
The jury consists of packaging professionals from the Scandinavian countries, all with in-depth knowledge about packaging. The jury selects winning entries judging by key parameters such as originality, protective qualities, cost efficiency, design and user friendliness.
Other than the important recognition which comes with the Scanstar Award 2011, it also means that SuperLock is now eligible for a WorldStar. This year the Norwegian Packaging Association was in charge of the competition and the award ceremony took place in Sandefjord Norway on 3 November 2011.
