The Danish capital, Copenhagen, is becoming more and more popular among gourmet travellers because the city holds an increasing number of restaurants that offer exceptionally high standards: Several restaurants have a Michelin star or two and other exquisite distinctions.
New Nordic
Sophisticated spices, pastes, powder and sauces are utterly important for gourmet meals. Along with many other factors they add zest to the food experience, and quite a few of these special blends of the Nordic or French cuisine – whether it is seaweed, liquorice or hay - are stored in plastic pots from RPC Superfos.
Popular in gourmet kitchens
The favourite one is the square UniPak, a versatile and handy pot for storage. The chef and his staff try out new combinations, create a new sauce or perhaps a garniture and keep it ready for use in transparent UniPak pots. The pot is sold to the restaurants, sometimes filled with spices, sometimes without content, through a wholesaler, Condi Emballage og Conditorvarer En Gros ApS, Denmark. Poul Corfitsen, Manager at Condi, explains:
“We know for a fact that the plastic pots from RPC Superfos are very popular in the gourmet kitchens. Many chefs would not like to do without the pots. They are widely considered as gem in the range of kitchen tools. Both chefs and their staff agree that the UniPak pots are indispensable, because they are easy to handle, stack, open and re-close. The size is handy and you can see through the pot and look directly at the content.”
UniPak is a reliable solution
The modus operandi at gourmet class kitchen includes high speed and handling of many ingredients at a time. In this connection it is an advantage that the plastic pots cannot do any harm like broken glass would.
“We are proud that top class restaurants serving impressive and upscale food use a time-honoured and reliable storing solution like the UniPak pot,” says Poul Corfitsen.
However, the UniPak pot is not only popular among fine-dining restaurant; it is equally widespread and well-liked in the foodservice segment at large such as catering, cafeterias and hospital kitchens.
If your next trip brings you to one of Copenhagen’s gourmet restaurants, though, you may want to recall that the sauce artistically decorating your plate most likely was kept in a UniPak pot. Exceptionally good food needs exceptionally good pots.
