Normally sold in a carton box, the bleaching powder Blan White from the Belgian company Peritus Brands is these days on shelf in a UniPak plastic box from RPC Superfos. The new packaging plays a key role in a promotional campaign to reinforce sales and gain customer loyalty.
The pack has tangible end-user benefits
The chosen plastic box, UniPak square, has some similarities with the usual packaging made of carton in respect of the colour and shape. However, as the UniPak box is made of plastic, it represents some essential benefits to the end-user of the bleaching powder. Isabel Vanhulle, Marketing Manager of Peritus Brands, explains:
“Our product Blan White helps maintaining the cleanliness and freshness of white textiles. It is a household product, used in humid environments. The UniPak storage pack renders protection against humidity and prevents the powder from getting lumpy. In this way the plastic storage pack adds to the customer value of Blan White.”
An efficient means of communication
The storage container is perfect for refill and holds a volume under lid of 800 gr, the equivalent of two carton boxes of Blan White bleaching powder. Isabel Vanhulle considers the promotional action a marketing investment, replying to increased competition from international brands. She says:
“As a manufacturer, we know that our choice of packaging has a clear impact on our customer relations. The UniPak storage box is beautiful with flawless in-mould labelling decorations. We consider the packaging a strong means of communication and in this case we also put in a small leaflet with pictures of our product range and brand values.”
