A small pack does not automatically mean a small surface for the visual communication with your customers; it all depends on the shape, design and artwork. This is the positive experience that Danish dairy company NORDEX FOOD gained with a bespoke solution from RPC Superfos.
NORDEX FOOD is a white cheese specialist with significant exports to Europe, the Middle East and a handful of overseas markets. The dairy company wanted to supply the Nordic markets with blocks of white cheese from its Taverna range in a norm-breaking, value added packaging.
Small packaging with big visual impact
NORDEX FOOD invited a number of suppliers to make their proposals for the packaging. Part of the brief was that the packaging should contain 200g, but still give a visible facing on the supermarket shelves.
“RPC Superfos came up with a solution which was spot on and perfectly matched our ideas. The elegant shape has never been seen before in the cheese category and despite the relatively small amount of cheese, the packaging comes with a big surface that allows fantastic facing. It is small, tall and slender,” says Commercial Development Manager Martin Pedersen from NORDEX FOOD and continues:
“We wanted a small cup with a new and different visual appeal. At the same time we wanted to keep a large surface on the packaging to be able to reach out to our customers from the supermarket shelves through clear visual communication.”
RPC Superfos delivered a packaging design having a slight resemblance with a flask and thus a large surface for decoration and branding. Opening and closing is easy, thanks to a tiny flap on the lid. Even people with arthritic hands find it trouble-free to handle the packaging. Now, the cheese in the Taverna range, 200 gr, can be found at major supermarkets in Denmark and Finland.
A pragmatic approach
Martin Pedersen describes the cooperation with RPC Superfos as impeccable. He appreciates the pragmatic approach to the brief and the solution from RPC Superfos.
“We have worked together on this bespoke solution in a very good way. RPC Superfos came up with many fine suggestions and we are happy with the final result.”
