Vanilla and chocolate flavoured ice cream with chocolate-covered meringue. Sounds delicious? Indeed it is, even so much that it makes the “Marängswiss” one of the favourite desserts of the Swedes.
The family-owned ice cream company SIA Glass produces the dessert based on fresh cream and high-quality ingredients. Just recently the company replaced the old thermo-formed pot for the dessert with an injection-moulded custom-made one from RPC Superfos leading to several benefits. Founder of SIA Glass Per Stenström explains:
“Although the shape and size of the packaging remain the same, we have obtained significant advantages with the new pot. We now have in-mould labelling on the top and bottom, which makes it look even better in the cold counter because the lines and colours of the decoration and text are much sharper. The new packaging is also strong and does not break easily.”
A perfect fit for the production
SIA Glass is also satisfied with the tamper evidence of the new pot because it offers customers a higher safety level. Yet another significant advantage is found in the filling line. Per Stenström explains:
“Our production has become more efficient since we now have an operation less in our production flow; we no longer have to add a label thanks to the in-mould labelling. Another plus is that every new pot has the exact same dimension, designed perfectly to our production machinery. Hereby the new pot prevents production stops.”
Smooth operator
According to Per Stenström, the switch-over to the new pot ran smoothly due to SIA Glass’ highly competent technicians, excellent planning and a good cooperation with RPC Superfos.
