Wet and dry food in one pack
New market trends have made Arla Food re-invent its popular Apetina white cheese in brine. Lise-Lotte York, International Project Manager - Speciality Cheese, Arla Foods says:
“Ready-to-serve salads and healthy dried fruit and nuts are sold in a still growing amount. However, many consumers are not happy about buying a large bag of pine nuts because often the leftovers end up in the bin.”
Arla Foods addressed these trends by adding a crispy salad topping to the Apetina product. The packaging challenge was to combine wet and dry in one pack.
Customised solution
Superfos, which already supplied the existing Apetina packaging, presented a catalogue of 20 solutions as a result of a joint idea generation workshop with Arla Foods. This led to a new customised packaging.
The cheese is separated from the topping by a transparent top closure holding the croutons or a mix of nuts and dried fruit. It is an elegant add-on with IML decoration.
“We are very happy with the innovative ideas from Superfos. The packaging is functional and its visual appearance is great. Superfos has shown that they understand us as well as the needs of our customers,” Lise-Lotte York concludes.
